Title: But To Love More
Author: D.L.SchizoAuthoress
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: Teen Titans v2 #14-15 and #19, Titans v1 #25
Prompt: from Saphire-Dance -- "Roy just flirts with everyone though, boy, girl, non binary cuties
it's just his default state of oh my gosh i love everyone
And I think a lot of people brush him off as not being serious, but no really he totally means to flirt and is super serious I will date you right now it will be so awesome" (We were just chatting, but the plotbunny bit hard.)
Warnings: so much kissing, some talk of sex (nothing explicit), guns because Jason shows up, strong language because Jason shows up
Word Count: 4035
Summary: Roy loves everyone, as much as they'll let him.
Note: Somehow I ended up anti-shipping Donna/Roy and shipping Lilith/Roy super hard over the course of writing this. Oops. The sections aren't quite chronological, with the "bad idea" at the start because I didn't want to end this on a down note.
Note II: Thanks to Daggerpen for randomly listing off other Titans for Roy to kiss when I couldn't think of enough. And many thanks for being a great beta-reader!

Word of the Day: billet-doux, noun: a love letter

But To Love More
One Teen Titan Roy Harper Has Kissed But Dating Is a Bad Idea
And Five Teen Titans He's Kissed and Would Totally Date

Roy has no illusions about love conquering all. He already knows very well that love gets chewed up and spit out by life like everything else. But he doesn't let that stop him from looking. Even if love doesn't last, he's going to enjoy it while he can, for however long he has it... and with whoever will let him love them.

Most people think he isn't serious. They telegraph pretty clearly that they consider the kissing, the dating, the sex all in fun -- a welcome bit of intimacy and enjoyment, but nothing serious. Roy doesn't see the need to correct them, doesn't feel like putting his heart out there on the line when they make it clear that they won't be. But he cherishes all of them.

Rating: G
Spoilers: none, this is a bakery AU
Prompt: For my "alternate take" fic meme, Daggerpen asked "any chance of some Baking Graysons POV on the Devil’s Food Bakery's order passing?"
Warnings: Dick Grayson is in grudge-holding mode and thus a jerk.

2. To bargain with; haggle.

Let Them Make Cake II

Roy heard the phone ringing in the back and worked just a little faster to box up the cake his current customer had requested. “Grant!” he called to the cashier, “Ring Mrs. Dibny up for me? Call coming in.”

He flashed her an apologetic smile, but the lady made a shooing motion with her hands as she smiled back — ‘go, go! answer that call!’ — and Roy felt better about slipping away. He ducked into the office and picked up the receiver.

"The Baking Graysons, Roy speaking. How may I help you?" Roy recited the basic set greeting.

"Roy!" a familiar voice said, in a cheerful tone that struck him as strange, "Glad it’s you. Danny Chase here."

"Hello, Danny," Roy replied.

I split this into two parts because I've been sitting on this story FOREVER.

"The heart already knows what the mind can only dream of, trust your heart."

The Heart Already Knows

He didn't have much chance to get to know Jason when he was alive.

No, that's a lie. He had his chances, but he rarely ever took them. He'd been angry with Bruce, too angry to see past his own hurt and rejection to the young boy in need of a guiding hand. In need of a big brother.

Oh, he didn't stay away the entire time that Jason was acting as Robin. After Alfred mentioned his growing concerns over how violently angry Jason could get with certain criminals, Dick managed to swallow his pride long enough to go back to the manor and at least attempt to socialize with his replacement.

Title: The Darkest Side of Me
Author: D.L.SchizoAuthoress
Rating: PG-13/R
Spoilers: for the 'Joker - Last Laugh' crossover event; timeline is between Nightwing #63 and Nightwing #64.
Warnings: character death, strong language
Prompt: DCU, Jason Todd/Dick Grayson, he always hoped Jason would come back to him. Also counts for [ profile] au_bingo 2010, "Alternate History: Canon event changed".
Word Count: 4938
Summary: There are consequences to every action, and every inaction... even those that we don't -- or can't -- let ourselves expect.

The Darkest Side of Me )

There's a good gap between Nightwing 63 (post-'Last Laugh', which means early November) and Nightwing 64 (an awesome Christmas story) that, in canon, allows Nightwing to be around for Titans 35-36 (Beast Boy and Flamebird visiting New York, and a murder-mystery). Nightwing's leave of absence mentioned in the story covers those two Titans issues so far.

Slightly spoilery story notes ) So I can totally get a trilogy out of this, and knock out two [ profile] hc_bingo prompts as well.

Also, Red Robin is the dorkiest Bat-fam codename ever. IT DOES NOT EXIST IN THIS UNIVERSE AND EVERYONE IS GLAD OF THAT.

Rating: PG
Spoilers: Nothing that I can think of. Timeline is vague.
Warnings: Gender-bender. Possible Tim-bashing (I don't think it is, but I admit he's my least favorite Robin). Insensitive jokes from a character that doesn't know better yet.
Word Count: 1082
Prompt: any, any, pretty like a girl
Summary: Maybe they were expecting him to make an ugly girl... truth is, he's not a girl at all.

Handle With Care )

Go to Chapter Four

(Urk. I need to reformat my tags... probably c: instead of chara:... when I'm not so sleepy.)

I hope that this chapter wasn't too confusing. Like I said, in the narration, Jason is referred to as "she" and "her" (although sharp readers will note that I tried to avoid pronoun use in places); the characters (with notable exception) are still thinking of Jason as "he" and "him".
schizoauthoress: (Batfamily-Robins 1-4)
Yes, the title is a reference to Robert Frost's "Mending Wall" poem. I don't know if it fits, exactly, but I like the poem and kept it in mind when thinking about the prompt.

I call this a semi-prequel to the Curse!verse because it nails down the timeline to a point where I think I messed up the Batfamily lineup. By the time One Year Later happened and this scene was acted out in canon, I think Cass was no longer Batgirl? Well, maybe this happens, and Cass comes back, and THEN the 'Curse of Aine' happens. I dunno.

Also, the Curse!verse is going to be Dick/Jason and [ profile] museofspeed specifically asked for genfic. So this doesn't have to be followed by 'Curse of Aine'. But assume that a similar scene happened in the Curse!verse to get Nightwing and Red Hood in Gotham at the start.
