schizoauthoress: (Cancer--I Peench Feets)
Though I would like to contribute to paring down the giant list of lonely!dcu prompts, I have to go where the story leads me. And it's leading me this-a-way...

Title: Settling In
Author: D.L.SchizoAuthoress / [livejournal.com profile] schizoauthoress
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: Nothing that I can think of. Timeline is vague.
Warnings: Gender-bender. Strong language, but it's Jason. He brings that out in people.
Note: This is short, but hopefully it will start my thoughts toward more Curse!verse; it's been sitting on my hard drive for a while now. Polished and finished at the request of [livejournal.com profile] shiny_glor_chan, for her birthday. Hopefully, there will be more 'birthday presents' to come, if a bit belatedly.
Word Count: 858
Summary: Jason on why he wants to be 'Jacinda'.

Settling In )

****

I might eventually flashback to the scene with Zatanna; for now, since I don't know too much about her outside of 'Countdown', I'm letting that alone.

Title: Handle With Care
Author: D.L.SchizoAuthoress / [livejournal.com profile] schizoauthoress
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Nothing that I can think of. Timeline is vague.
Warnings: Gender-bender. Possible Tim-bashing (I don't think it is, but I admit he's my least favorite Robin). Insensitive jokes from a character that doesn't know better yet.
Word Count: 1082
Prompt: any, any, pretty like a girl
Summary: Maybe they were expecting him to make an ugly girl... truth is, he's not a girl at all.

This story is part of the Curse!verse and is a direct sequel. Click on the link, or the "fiction: dcu: curse!verse" tag to read the previous parts.

(Urk. I need to reformat my tags... probably c: instead of chara:... when I'm not so sleepy.)

I hope that this chapter wasn't too confusing. Like I said, in the narration, Jason is referred to as "she" and "her" (although sharp readers will note that I tried to avoid pronoun use in places); the characters (with notable exception) are still thinking of Jason as "he" and "him".

Title: Explorations of Unfamiliar Territory
Author: D.L.SchizoAuthoress / [livejournal.com profile] schizoauthoress
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Nothing that I can think of. Timeline is vague.
Warnings: Gender-bender. Rambling, and very few jokes. Broad interpretation of the prompt.
Prompt: author's choice, author's choice/author's choice, so different, yet so similar. like two sides of the same coin
Word Count: 592
Summary: This is his body. This is not his body. Both statements are true.

More Curse!verse under the cut... )
*****

Whoa, what the hell, suddenly I'm treating the Curse!verse seriously.

This was actually my plan all along. Yeah, Dick making an ass of himself over Jason's changed gender (and Jason's eventual retaliations) is supposed to be funny, but I don't want to just be goofy or have the change not be a big deal. I'm not sure yet if Jason is cisgender (and therefore switched into the wrong kind of body) or transgender (and therefore changed into the right body)... Jason's not sure yet, and I guess I'd like to play with that.

The pronouns are tough to decide on. I know I did a switch at the end of part one, but that was part of the reveal that Jason's physical sex had changed. So far as I know at this point, Jason's gender is still male/he still identifies as a male and thus, he. For third person limited point-of-view pieces like this, and the thoughts of the characters, I think I'll stick to using he/his/him for Jason. But for third person omniscient, I will match Jason's pronouns to his physical sex and use she/hers/her. I consider it to be like the difference between calling Bruce Wayne 'Batman' or 'Bruce' depending on his appearance (or whether he's in the field).

I don't know. If y'all have any thoughts on this, feel free to share.

Yet another [livejournal.com profile] shiny_glor_chan prompt! Hee. She does have excellent ideas. (There are other [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic prompts I'm thinking of working into this AU -- the Curse!verse, natch -- that aren't from Glor, so yeah. I spent quite a while combing through the lonely!dcu tags on delicious...)

Title: The Curse of Aine
Author: D.L.SchizoAuthoress / [livejournal.com profile] schizoauthoress
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: Nothing that I can think of. Timeline is vague.
Warnings: Gender-bender which will eventually lead to twisty het. (This chapter is clear of that...)
Prompt: DCU, girl!Jason Todd/Dick Grayson, "Grayson, if you don't stop laughing-!"
Word Count: 1008
Summary: Jason gets on a goddess's bad side. After the initial shock, Dick is highly amused.
