schizoauthoress: (Schrödinger's Cat)
Title: Multiple Choice
Author: D.L.SchizoAuthoress ([livejournal.com profile] schizoauthoress)
Fandom: Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers
Pairing/characters: Trini Kwan, Jason Lee Scott, Zordon, Alpha-5
Rating: G/PG
Disclaimer: Despite the numerous fights I got into with my best friend over who got to be the Yellow Ranger when we played in grade school, I have no ownership over the Power Rangers, in their first incarnation as Super Sentai, Saban's Mighty Morphin', or others.
Prompt: Power Rangers, Trini, Whenever Trini morphs, her body becomes male. She's surprised at how comfortable she feels with a male body and starts to question her gender identity.
Summary: It's not a simple question -- she can answer with what's true, or with what her family thinks is 'right'...
Warning: Wasn't able to get a beta. Anything terribly glaring or unclear, let me know and I'll fix it. :)
Word Count: 2581

Author's Notes:
1) I'm a very casual fan of "Power Rangers", having only watched the first and second season (and eventually giving up a couple episodes after 'The Power Transfer') so I don't know about what came after. I did some research, but I'm not claiming that anything I establish here is remotely canon. Heh.
2) Okay, name-nerd here, and I admit it. "Kwan" as Trini's last name is kind of problematic, because that's just not how Vietnamese should be romanized. The "Kwan" spelling is much more common as the surname of a Chinese person, or a Korean given name. It was really hard to find out how her surname 'should be' written; "Quan" is probably the closest. For simplicity's sake, though, I'll spell the Vietnamese version of her name with her canon surname.

Multiple Choice )

****

Oh my god, so nervous over how people will take this. But I had to post it today, and with my work schedule, I'd have no chance to work on it after now.

If I really did something wrong, be brutal, dudes.

Fandom: Firefly/Serenity

Tasted of Desire )

End Notes )

There was a big delay getting this out. The story did NOT want to cooperate initially, so I let the mods know and took on a prompt from someone else. I so did not expect that the pinch hitter would drop out, too. So I basically Niska-ed my muse until she came out with this... not exactly what you were expecting, I think, but I hope [livejournal.com profile] 2ndary_author likes it anyway.

Author: D.L. SchizoAuthoress // [livejournal.com profile] schizoauthoress
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] avariel_wings
Fandom: The Dresden Files (books)
Rating: G
Word Count: 1997
Spoilers: Changes (the latest Dresden book) does heavily inform the backstory of this fanfic.
Warnings: Surprisingly, none. Except that I'm evil.
Summary: The Carpenters grow 'em morally upright and heroic, doncha know.
Notes: Title taken from a hymn, "As the Sun Doth Daily Rise", which is -- according to my source -- from the Latin, translated by J. Masters and adapted by Horatio Nelson. In other words, it's not mine. I trimmed a verse from what I quote (as church services are wont to do, so I figure there's at least precedent) since I just couldn't fit it in.

Thanks to my beta-reader, [livejournal.com profile] bluezybunny for the grammar/spelling check. Sadly, I don't have any fellow Dresden Files fans on my flist that I could ask for a beta, so any errors in canon are mine and mine alone.

Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] snowacid
Fandom: Watchmen, movieverse
Rating: PG-13 for some mild swearing?
Spoilers: None really, except some scenes before the climax of the movie.
Warnings: Mentions of death, some violence.
Request: #3 - Alternative ending: Nite Owl and Rorschach were able to defeat Ozymandias, still Cold War ensues. Nuclear war-scenario. Bonus points for Trust-Issues!Nite Owl.
Summary: Ozymandius was defeated because someone said "no" – and all his worst fears came to pass. Nite Owl and Rorscharch after the end of the world. I don't really know if I earned those bonus points...
Acknowledgements and Notes: Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] ladydragonryder and [livejournal.com profile] bluezybunny, my beta-readers. They made my late-night, post-work ramblings make sense.
Song lyrics at the beginning from "All Hell Breaks Loose" by The Misfits (Walk Among Us, 1982)...and the fact that it fits with the timeframe of the movie is just a happy accident.

Sigh! No one on the 2009 Apocalyptothon wrote for Sesame Street. I'm just cross-posting the prompts to see if I'll get inspired.

Livejournal user name: [livejournal.com profile] aphrodite_mine
E-mail: cookingwithedna at gmail dot com
Request 3 - fandom: Sesame Street
Details: Various muppets and residents of the street attempt to make light of the end of the world by learning from the experience.

Livejournal user name: [livejournal.com profile] kanedax
E-mail: kanedax321 AT gmail DOT com
Request 5 - fandom: Sesame Street
Details: Oscar the Grouch can always find the best garbage. Now that Sesame Street's a pile of smoldering rubble, he's in heaven!

Livejournal user name: [livejournal.com profile] scottique
E-mail: scottique@gmail.com
Request 5 - fandom: Sesame Street (oh dear)
Details: The story should be aptly titled "St. Elmo's Fire."

Livejournal user name: [livejournal.com profile] coffeewordangel
E-mail: midnight_blues3@hotmail.com
Request 5 - fandom: The Muppet Show/Sesame Street
Details: ZOMBIEMUPPETS!! Is there anything better? No. No, there is not.

Livejournal user name: [livejournal.com profile] schizoauthoress
E-mail: schizoauthoress@hotmail.com / fangir1bynum83r5@yahoo.com (send messages to both, just in case)
Request 5 - fandom: Sesame Street (I can't resist! I'm going to hell, but I can't resist!)
Details: The global pandemic has changed the lessons that Sesame Street has for us, especially since the creatures known as Muppets seem to be immune to the disease that is slowly wiping out humanity. (Bonus points if you can work show segments into this somehow, like Grover's globetrotting adventures to children around the world becoming part of humanitarian aid efforts, or perhaps 'Journey to Ernie' changed to a search for Patient Zero?) No zombies in this one, please. (Angsty and dramatic would rock!)

Livejournal user name: [livejournal.com profile] kaizoku
E-mail: gryfinn@gmail.com
Request 4 - fandom: The Muppet Show/Sesame Street
Details: Something harkening back to the early Muppet movies. A post-apocalyptic road trip? Any rating.
=================================
2010 Prompts (so far):
[livejournal.com profile] apocalypsos
Request 4 - fandom: The Muppet Show/Sesame Street
Details: All of the Muppets thought they'd be safe from the plague that killed everyone else until Kermit's seams started to fray. (I know that's a bit meta, but I was going to use that as my first sentence last year and the story wouldn't come no matter how much I loved that line.)

Okay, I JUST finished my entry for the No School Like the Old School Ficathon. Yay!

TITLE: Fight Club Sunnydale
RATING: PG-13
PAIRING: Willow/Oz, slight mention of Buffy/Angel
SPOILERS/TIMELINE: slightly before “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered”
SUMMARY: Oz muses on his new membership into Buffy’s “fight club”.
AUTHOR’S NOTES: I totally meant for this to be of wider focus, and intended to switch point-of-view, but Oz decided to channel Jack and took over. Any lines you recognize from the book “Fight Club,” by Chuck Palahniuk are intentional.
