I'm fairly certain that this is my first default icon, back when Basic accounts existed and we only had three (yes, three) slots for icons. It's a picture of me as a toddler, cuddling with the pitbull boy of the family. I made this icon during a rather low point in my life, and added the text "I am loved." as a reminder that yes, it's true. People do love this crazy, lazy, weirdo pervert.

This is my current default because it's a simple image. I kind of have this belief that defaults should either be "simple and clean" or "very distinctive", and 'A Spark in the Dark' is really just a white burst on a black background. I chose it because I identify with the element of fire, and it also looks like a sparkler...and I was born close to the Fourth of July.

And THIS is my 'every so often I switch back to this one' quasi-default icon. She's my favorite character from the "Soul Edge/Soul Calibur" video game franchise -- Seung Mina. "Heart and Soul" is a reference to her nickname in 'Soul Edge' -- "Heart and Soul Girl". She's always been sort of the tomboy/rebel/independent woman of the game series, and I really like that about her.
