Event Horizon

In addition to the No School Like the Old School Ficathon, a planned storyline for "Healing an Old Break," and a few vague rumblings of inspiration from the Mighty Ducks corner of my mind, I'm writing poetry, too.

We watched Winged Migration in Environmental Science today, and we did not have to take notes. I ended up with the beginnings of five poems, all varying lengths. The only one I managed to finish was a single stanza. I'll scan the original page from my notebook when I get home tonight, but I thought I'd share with you guys:

SWAN BY MOONLIGHT (070207)
A silver circle, shrouded in mist,
Floats in the blue-black of the sky,
And the swan fixes the dark bead of his eye
Upon the thing, wondering
How far he need fly,
He dreams, with a sigh,
To see his feathers with silver kissed?
