Unspeakable filth!
May. 12th, 2010 03:05I am vastly entertained by subliminal advertising and like to look around for examples of it. These aren't by any means the only examples I've found, and Coca-Cola is not the only "guilty company"... they're just the easiest for me to find, especially since.. well, to be honest, I think that the adverts worked on me, at least on the level of increasing how much I recognize the product.
We start with the classic "suggestive ice" on the lip of the cola can image:

The obvious 'reclining woman', with the downward hanging ice as her hair, the first bump as her shoulder, followed by a tucked-in waist and the second bump as the curve of her buttocks...
****
And secondly, the infamous "Feel the Curves!" poster from the mid-1980s:
( Cut for image size )
According to various sources, this image was only released in South Australia before someone noticed the risque imagery in the ice cubes. (Ice cubes are popular spots for subliminal imagery; not only for Coke and other colas, but definitely alcoholic drinks as well.)
*****
The next images are all fairly large, 450x600something, so they all go behind cuts.
( Love on the Coke Side of Life )
*****
I actually saw this next image first of all these "Coke Side of Life" advertisements, but I think it works better following the 'Love' image:
( The Coke Side of Dublin )
*****
( Live on the Coke Side of Life )
