Title: Pledge
Author: D.L.SchizoAuthoress
Rating: PG
Spoilers: None
Warnings: Possible slight OOC-ness
Notes: So I tried to do another series of "Where Your Heart Is", but only one song really inspired me (Getting Away with Murder, Papa Roach). Set sometime after drabble #8 (We Didn't Start the Fire) here but probably before #10.
Word Count: 131
Summary: Cass makes a promise to herself
Pledge
Somewhere around the fortieth or fiftieth time that Jason wakes up in the dead of night, clawing at the air and screaming, Cass decides that if she ever gets the chance, she's going to kill the Joker. Jason would hate to hear that; he knows how badly death affects her (hadn't he held her after she broke down, that night she allowed him to kill?) and how much it hurts her to even let anyone die.
But there are some things worth the pain.
She wraps her arms around Jason's shaking body -- loosely, not confining in any way -- and locks that secret promise away in her heart as she kisses his tear-streaked face.
She'll go looking for leads tomorrow. For now, she has something much more important to do.
****
I don't quite know where I'm going with this. Cass and Jason definitely need to talk, but Jason!muse is staying suspiciously quiet.
