...it was good practice. An Enterprise patch with the science insignia on it (like one of my favorite characters, McCoy).

It's sewn on scrap interfacing, using "doubled-up" thread (two pieces folded over on the needle eye instead of one) in black, dark gold, and metallic gold.
The next patch (hopefully, to be added to my TOS uniform minidress) will be larger so that I can make the insignia neater. I'll definitely sew the gold parts first, too.
