So, the green and blue Churn Dash blocks have...hit a snag. You see, I wasn't quite expecting my fabric to look so dark, more like this, but instead, I got this combination:
I was doubtful about it, but figured it would look a bit better once it was all sewn and laid out.
No. Didn't look one whit better -- looked worse, in fact. Because the blue fabric is a white-on-blue paisley and the brighter green color is a green-and-white plaid-ish looking thing. *shudder*
So, yeah. Given that I don't have enough green that matches the color I wanted, I'm switching the other two shades. It now looks more like this:
But it's about three hours of hand stitching down the drain since I have to pick the pieces apart to at least recover some of the dark green. I'm sure I'll be able to use them in a scrap quilt at the very least.
