You Could Kill Someone...

"You could kill someone with that..." Conner says under his breath, as he pushes back from the table. It's soft enough that only two other people attending this dinner can hear him -- Kara giggles, but Clark frowns slightly, just enough to let Conner know that he disapproves of the sentiment. Conner finds it hard to give a damn -- it might be rude, but it's true, and he's trying to go back to how he used to be when it comes to honestly. He used to have a hard time lying about anything, and it makes him feel bad to realize how easily lies can come to him now.

Across the table from Conner, the latest Robin is making faces behind a napkin -- probably spitting into that napkin, too. Not that Damian would ever admit to such behavior (the sort of low-class thing a normal kid would do, horrors!) On Damian's left, Cass is slipping her slice of dessert into her pocket. Next to Cass, Tim is gamely trying to chew -- and Conner is worried about the state of his best friend's teeth now.

"I know he's your friend, Clark..." Conner murmurs against his water glass, before taking a deep, deep drink. At least the awful taste was somewhat lessened by that. "...and he's making progress inviting the family over for Christmas dinner..."

More giggling from Kara.

"...but if we hit someone with this fruitcake, instead of trying to eat it, it would be assault with a deadly weapon."

Why Bruce decided to try making dessert instead of allowing Alfred to exercise his expertise, Conner would never know.
