Fic Recs!

I'm so pleased with the story I received for this year's apocalyptothon! After last year, when no one wrote apocalyptic!Muppetfic (although honestly, this was not from lack of trying, as I've found out), I was thrilled to see that my prompt repost had been chosen by my writer.

It's... The Big Bird Flu, by kanedax. Read and give him praises! (Rated PG-13, and I'll repost his warning: "Destruction & deconstruction of your childhood.")

And from lgbtfest, I am also recommending:

Stupendous Man and Pretty Cool Dude (for an old guy) Join Forces, by mjules.
Here's the prompt that led to this fic: "Calvin and Hobbes, Uncle Max/OMC, Calvin finally gets to go visit Uncle Max. Cue him and his partner telling the story of how they first met and came out - to a six year old and his stuffed tiger."

Kids are extremely hard to write, but mjules does it wonderfully. Calvin is pitch-perfect, but we seem him through the fresh eyes of Uncle Max's partner, so we can experience him as though he's come crashing into OUR homes, demanding to be called Stupendous Man. ^_^

A Week of Coming Out, by katmarajade
"Ginny finds the courage to come out to her brothers. Some are more understanding than others."

The reactions from each of Ginny's brothers, upon learning that she's a lesbian, are all different and absolutely character-perfect. Also, PERCY!!! Squee! (His section was awesome.)
