schizoauthoress: (Adventures in Cooking)
I signed up for Seven-Layer Gelatin Salad (also called Ribbon Gelatin Salad) and it's a labor-intensive one. I am doing one flavor for each color of the rainbow, in light of our St. Patrick's Day theme for the spread, plus a creamy gelatin layer between them. Each takes about half an hour to firm up before I can pour the next layer.

So far, I've got red (cherry), orange (what do you think?), and yellow (lemon). The orange punched a hole in the first creamy layer (creamy gelatin = gelatin/milk/sugar/vanilla/sour cream) but I've got the hang of it now...

The remaining layers are green (lime), blue (berry blue), and purple (grape).

No sleep til gelatin?

EDIT: The many cooks who came before me are wiser than I...I ran out of room at Layer Green, like the recipe indicated I would.
