I don't know...I don't worry about appearing "poor" to other people. I was pretty well inoculated by being teased for it by people whom I didn't want to be friends with anyway, in middle school. Once I realized that people have a tendency to be judgmental for no good reason, and that I shouldn't worry about what others think, unless they know me, I was much happier.
