Let Her Lie
Power Girl -- Karen, Atlee reminds herself sternly -- has been probably the best friend Atlee's made since coming to the surface world. And they do all the things that best friends do, according to her sources of information on surface world culture. They spend time together, have long conversations about everything and nothing in particular, go to movies, and (her favorite) go shopping -- and a few other things, like saving the world and beating up evil people.

And that's great, most of it's normal, and normal's what she wants to be, right? Atlee has to blend in with the surface worlders when she's not saving the world.

She leans a little closer to Karen. They were supposed to watch the episodes of 'Glee' that Karen set her DVR to record -- they've missed the show due to that world-saving thing for the past couple weeks. But Karen's had a long day... if Atlee's honest, Karen's had long days for the past couple months, and she needs sleep more than she needs to snark at Sue Sylvester with Atlee. So Atlee lets her lie there against the throw pillows, knowing that she needs it... but she still wishes that Karen was awake to spend time with. Atlee's happier when she knows that Karen's happy... and even happier when Karen is happy with her.

But she's not quite sure how to say these things, so she just smooths back Karen's hair and kisses the woman on the temple... and lets her sleep.
