Title: Down Into the Dark I Go
Author: D.L.SchizoAuthoress
Rating: R
Spoilers: these events are based on, but not entirely the same as, those of Kid Eternity v2 (the Grant Morrison/Duncan Fegredo miniseries)
Warnings: Omegaverse, fucked up Alpha/Beta/Omega society, pregnancy, mpreg, sexual abuse, child abuse, child death, serial killer plot
Prompt/Fill: None
Word Count: 3205
Summary: Kit thought the worst that could be done to him was done already. He was wrong. And he does worse to the other predators, now that he's been brought back.
Note: This is possibly the worst, darkest, most horrifying thing I've ever written. And I couldn't get myself to go into detail, really. But mind the warnings -- this is more about what a crapsack world I've made, rather than A/B/O dynamics.
Word of the Day: piceous, adjective:
1. Inflammable; combustible.
2. Of, pertaining to, or resembling pitch.
3. Zoology. Black or nearly black as pitch.

National Comics: Eternity #1 (2012 DCnU oneshot)

The art on the one-shot is credited to Cully Hamner and Derec Donovan. I'm not sure if they split the duties or what, but around page 20 the art seems to shift. If I had to guess I'd say it was Donovan imitating Hamner at that point. But I don't know for certain. Either way, DCnU Eternity and Mr. Keeper sure are pretty men.

Kid Eternity of New Earth was killed in JSA #1 (Aug 1999), and then a spiritual echo of him appeared in JSA #47-48 (June and July 2003). His next appearance would be in the Teen Titans v3 title.

Kid Eternity v3 (1993 Vertigo run)

I consider this art some of the most painful stuff I've ever seen for Kid Eternity -- at least until issue 10, following a plot-relevant haircut for the Kid. And the thing is, the cover artist remained the same -- Sean Phillips -- and his work on the covers is great. He was also the interior penciller, with Sean Scoffield standing in as penciller only on issue seven (icons #91-103). I have no idea why the Kid is drawn so old-looking so much of the time in the earlier half of the run.

In 1991, Grant Morrison wrote a three-issue miniseries reintroducing Kid Eternity into the post-Crisis world. He kept some things from the Golden Age, but twisted others and made things darker and edgier.

The mini seems to take place in the present day (early nineties), and Kid Eternity has recently returned to Earth after thirty years being imprisoned in Hell by the Lords of Order for being an agent of Chaos.

I personally don't have much fondness for Morrison's writing (except for the snarkiness and personality he gives the Kid), but the art by Duncan Fegredo is pretty amazing.
